The Yahoo! Mail team has added a shortcut to a bunch of Yahoo! Apps. Here we are, near the Inbox 2.0. The direct link to try those apps is http://apps.yahoo.com/myapps

Friends Explorer seems to be the most interesting application, but you’ll also find a stock app, a travel app and another one bearing a french name: Les Aventures de Strongbad.

I can’t wait to see some cool apps to be integrated in Yahoo! Mail. I am especially interested in productivity tools like an advanced search tools saving favorite queries, a task list and why not an integrated online space for other types of files :)

Update
So after writing this 2-minute article last night, I just wanted to update it and mention that those installed apps can actually send notifications to the Yahoo! Profile. Also, from the Yahoo! Mail drop down menu i was referring to, you’ll get a direct access to your list of contacts added via the profile service
